Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
