And [every time] the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth and gave the lie to the announcement of a life to come - [simply] because We had granted them ease and plenty in [their] worldly life, and they had become corrupted by it [every time] they would say: "This [man] is nothing hut a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat, and drinking of what you drink: 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that after you die and become dust and bones you will be brought back to life again? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 Then the Blast overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead leaves (floating on the stream of Time)! So away with the people who do wrong! 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then sent We Our Messengers successively; whenever its Messenger came to a nation they cried him lies, so We caused some of them to follow others, and We made them as but tales; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Moosa the Book, that they may attain guidance. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. 50
