In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 and the scarers scaring 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 When they are reminded, they do not remember. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
