The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
