Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 as black camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
