Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dawn 1 And the Ten Nights, 2 And by oath of the even and the odd. 3 The night as it advances, 4 Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? 5 Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with Ad, 6 (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings, 7 the like of whom no nation was ever created in the lands of the world? 8 And how did He deal with Thamud who hewed out rocks in the valley? 9 and with Pharaoh of the stakes? 10 [All of] whom oppressed within the lands 11 And multiplied therein corruption. 12 So your Lord poured on them different kinds of severe torment. 13 your Lord keeps an eye on (all evil-doing people). 14 As for man, when his Lord tests him by honoring him and favoring him, he says: 'My Lord, has honored me' 15 However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance, he says, "God has disgraced me". 16 (Since wealth does not necessarily guarantee everlasting happiness) then why do you not show kindness to the orphans, 17 and you urge not the feeding of the needy, 18 And ye devour inheritance - all with greed, 19 And ye love wealth with inordinate love! 20 But no; when the earth is ground to powder, 21 And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank, 22 and Gehenna is brought out, upon that day man will remember; and how shall the Reminder be for him? 23 He will say: "Oh, would that I had provided beforehand for my life [to come]!" 24 On that Day no one will punish as He punishes, 25 And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]. 26 O you tranquil soul, 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him), 28 "Enter thou, then, among My devotees! 29 And enter thou My Garden. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
