Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
