Abraham (Ibrahim)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Noah (Noah) before The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Ra; it is a Book which We have sent down upon you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) so that you may bring forth people from the realms of darkness into light by the command of their Lord, towards the path of the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy. 1 God, to whom belongs all there is in the heavens and the earth. Woe to the unbelievers for the terrible punishment (that awaits). 2 Those who hold the life of this world dearer than that of the next, who obstruct the path of God and seek obliquity in it, have wandered far into error. 3 And We sent not an apostle but with the speech of his people that he might expound unto them. Then Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 4 We sent Moses and gave him miracles in order to lead his people from darkness into light and to remind them of the days of God. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for those who exercise patience and give thanks. 5 Moses told his people, "Remember the favors that God granted you when He saved you from the people of the Pharaoh who had punished you in the worst manner by murdering your sons and keeping your women alive. It was a great trial for you from your Lord. 6
