۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 He is only a servant We blessed, and We made him to be an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We willed We could have appointed angels born of you in the earth to succeed each other. 60 It is knowledge of the Hour; doubt not concerning it, and follow me. This is a straight path. 61 And do not ever let the devil stop you; he is indeed your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 Verily God is my Lord and your Lord; so worship Him. This is the straight path." 64 But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
