Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets set forth 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
