The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
