Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O YOU ENWRAPPED in the cloak (of Prophethood), 1 Stay up the night long save a little 2 A half of it or a little less 3 or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly. 4 We shall soon entrust to you a message heavy (with solemnity). 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West. There is no god but He. So take Him alone as your protector. 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 We have prepared for them fetters, flaming fire, 12 and food that chokes, and grievous suffering 13 On that day, the earth and the mountains will be violently shaken, and the mountains will be turned into heaps of moving sand. 14 We have sent to you, (O men!) a messenger, to be a witness concerning you, even as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh. 15 But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
