The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
