T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed: 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 "Behold, [although] I have willed to keep it hidden, the Last Hour is bound to come, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with what he strove for [in life]. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
