Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
