Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would it had been the end! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 nor any food save the filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
