Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 That Hell is surely one of the greater signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
