The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
