And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 "My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity." 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 "And forgive my paternal uncle - he is indeed astray." 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was naught but the sinners that led us astray; 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
