In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 and the scarers scaring 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Most surely your Allah is One: 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: This is nothing but clear magic: 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 And our fathers too?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
