Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
