The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
