Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite until an appointed term. Indeed when Allah's appointed term comes, it cannot be deferred; if you only knew!” 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20
