In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 But only as an admonition unto him who feareth. 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 I am God. There is no deity save Me; so worship Me alone, and say your prayers in My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 Allah said: take hold of it, and fear not; We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
