And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
