Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 When the two angels meet together, sitting one on the right, and one on the left, 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 who hinders good, exceeds the limits, is immersed in doubts, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ and his associate [Satan] will say, "Lord, I did not make him transgress, he had already gone far astray himself." 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
