Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the punishment of Gehenna (Hell) an evil arrival! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
