The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
