Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath), 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11
