In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 half of it, or reduce it a little; 3 or add a little), and chant the Koran very distinctly; 4 Soon shall We send down to thee a weighty Message. 5 Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. 6 Surely you have in the day time a long occupation. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment, 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing. 16 Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19
