The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn, 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then looked he, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
