(Hell will never spare the disbelievers). 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
