The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched, 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
