۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
