(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
