The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 and banana trees, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
