Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
