The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
