The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 your comrade is not astray, neither errs, 2 Nor does he speak out of desire. 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The heart [of the Prophet] did not misconstrue what he saw. 11 Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth? 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 By the lote-tree of the utmost boundary, 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. 18 Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 Are yours the males and His the females? 21 This indeed is an unjust division! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
