The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
