1/2 Hizb 33

۞ Before this We gave Abraham his virtue, for We knew him. 51 when he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues unto which you are cleaving?' 52 They replied: "We found our fathers worshipping them." 53 He said, "Both you and your fathers have certainly been in error." 54 They exclaimed, "Have you brought the Truth or are you joking?" 55 He said: Aye! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth Who created them, and as to that I am of the witnesses. 56 “And, by oath of Allah, I shall seek to harm your idols after you have gone away and turned your backs.” 57 So he smashed them up to pieces with the exception of the biggest, so that they may turn to it. 58 They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer. 59 'We have heard a young man called Abraham mention them' they replied. 60 They said: bring him then before the eyes of the people, haply they may bear witness. 61 (On Abraham's arrival) they said: "Abraham, are you he who has done this to our gods?" 62 He said: "Nay, this was done by - this is their biggest one! ask them, if they can speak intelligently!" 63 So they returned one to another, and they said, 'Surely it is you who are the evildoers.' 64 And they were utterly confounded, and they said: Well thou knowest that these speak not. 65 Abraham said, "So, do you worship something instead of God that can neither benefit you nor harm you? 66 Shame on you and on whatever you worship instead of God. Can you not understand?" 67 They said: "Burn him and help your aliha (gods), if you will be doing." 68 We said: O fire! be thou cool and peace unto Ibrahim. 69 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the worse losers, 70 We saved him and Lot, and brought them to the land which We had blessed for all the worlds. 71 We gave him, in excess, Isaac, and Jacob (for a grandson); and We made each righteous 72 and made them leaders who would guide [others] in accordance with Our behest: for We inspired them [with a will] to do good works, and to be constant in prayer, and to dispense charity: and Us [alone] did they worship. 73 To Lot, We gave judgment and knowledge and saved him from the village that had been committing corrupt deeds; for they were an evil nation and were debauched. 74 And We brought him in unto Our mercy. Lo! he was of the righteous. 75

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
