The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 191
