Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
