And recall what time thou settedst forth from thy household early to settle believers in positions for the fight. And Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 121 Two groups among you almost lost courage despite having God as their Guardian. The believers should always have trust in God. 122 For sure Allah helped you at Badr when you were utterly weak. Beware, then, of Allah; perhaps you will be thankful. 123 When you said to the believers: Does it not suffice you that your Lord should assist you with three thousand of the angels sent down? 124 Certainly, if you have patience and piety, even if the enemy attacks immediately after this, God will help you with another force of five thousand angels, all splendidly (and or distinctly marked) dressed. 125 The sending of the angels is a glad news from your Lord so that you would have more confidence in Him. No victory is real unless it is from God, the Majestic and All-wise. 126 That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed. 127 You have no say in this affair to decide whether He will relent towards them or He will punish them: they are wrongdoers. 128 Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth belong to God. He forgives whoever He pleases and punishes whoever He pleases. God is most forgiving and ever merciful. 129
