It is He Who has endowed you with the faculties of hearing and sight and has given you hearts (to think). Scarcely do you give thanks. 78 It is He Who has dispersed you all around the earth, and it is unto Him that you shall all be mustered. 79 And He it is who grants life and deals death; and to Him is due the alternation of night and day. Will you not, then, use your reason? 80 Nay, but they say the like of that which said the men of old; 81 They say: "When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be raised to life again? 82 Certainly we are promised this, and (so were) our fathers aforetime; this is naught but stories of those of old. 83 Say, [O Muhammad], "To whom belongs the earth and whoever is in it, if you should know?" 84 Thereupon they will say, “To Allah”; proclaim, “Therefore why do you not ponder?” 85 Say: "Who is it that sustains the seven heavens and is enthroned in His awesome almightiness?" 86 They will say, "(They belong) to Allah." Say: "Will ye not then be filled with awe?" 87 Say: "Whose is the sovereignty over all things, who protects, and against whom there is no protection? {Answer) if you have knowledge." 88 They will reply spontaneously, "It is God." Ask them, "Why has falsehood bewitched you?" 89 Aye! We have brought them the truth and verily they are the liars. 90 Never did God take unto Himself any offspring, nor has there ever been any deity side by side with Him: [for, had there been any,] lo! each deity would surely have stood apart [from the others] in whatever it had created, and they would surely have [tried to] overcome one another! Limitless in His glory is God, [far] above anything that men may devise by way of definition, 91 [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, so high is He above what they associate [with Him]. 92
