Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a high garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
