Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
