The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
