In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Yes indeed, man is surely rebellious. 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 Or enjoins piety? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
