1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 but [since it will be too late,] they will turn upon one another, demanding of each other [to relieve them of the burden of their past sins]. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In gardens of delight, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
